Where young performers discover their voice
ActReel Academy was founded on the belief that every young person deserves the chance to see themselves on screen. We create the space where confidence meets creativity.
ActReel Academy is a screen acting school for young performers. We teach essential screen acting skills through hands-on training and real film productions, so students discover what it's really like to be in front of the camera.
Most drama programs focus on stage performance, but the screen demands something different: subtlety, authenticity and technical precision. Our students learn how cameras work, how to find their mark, how to deliver natural performances and how a film set operates.
Along the way they develop teamwork, imagination and communication skills that last well beyond the set.
ActReel Academy was founded in 2019 by NIDA-trained actor Govinda Roser.
Discover Young Screen Actors: Grades 3-6 and create, perform and see yourself on the big screen.
Govinda Roser founded ActReel Academy in 2019 to inspire and support young people in the joys of storytelling and filmmaking. After graduating from NIDA in 2014 and working across film, television and theatre in Australia and internationally, Govinda saw that young performers needed training made for the screen.
We believe screen acting education should be accessible, inclusive and professional. Every student, whatever their background or experience, deserves expert instruction, real production experience and the chance to see their work on screen.
Our Young Screen Actors: Grades 3-6 course takes students through the rehearsal and shooting process for a short film, guided by industry-experienced coaches. Students gain confidence acting on camera and collaborate with their peers in a genuine production environment.
Each course finishes with a special screening, where students see their work on the big screen with family and friends.
ActReel Academy is based at Level 1, 37 Foveaux St, Sydney NSW 2010.
